A Personal Philosophy for the 21st Century

Introduction.

I’ve been developing a personal philosophy for two reasons. The first, is to try and make sense of the things I think and feel. The second, is to engage with existing ideas and literature. My background is not in philosophy, which may be clear by the above diagram which lumps any philosophy other than existentialism into the category of “traditional philosophy” and then distills those theories into three words and a line with an arrow. Needless to say, this is an oversimplification of all existing philosophy prior to the existentialist movement which took form in the 20th Century as, in part, an ideological response to the spread of fascism and the violence fascism produces.
